PRECENDENT ARTIST So originally my projections are onto pillows and must deal with dreams because I am simply interested in the appeal of nightmares and weird dreams and comforting dreams. I could not find artist that projected on pillows, but I did find artist that inspired me for this project. There are two precedent Artist that I found inspiring to analyze. The first artist I found this artist named Ryohei Hase who turns his nightmares into paintings. Hase says “Sometimes dreams and nightmares inspire my work. I really enjoy looking back at dreams, especially when I had really fantastic ones as they could come from feelings deep in my mind”. Most of his artwork is fantasy based, but a lot of them are inspired through his seamless dreams. Hase is a Japanese artist based in Tokyo, and I could not find much biography about him. He is a contemporary traditional artist that caught my eye. His art looks similar to that of religious paintings, in a dream like setting, but often turns i...

PRECEDENT ARTIST  "In a World of My Own"      Eugenia Loli is a vintage collage artist that uses magazines to create visual narratives. She exploits a sense of bizarre surrealism and style that is very different than other artists. In choosing background images and people doing random things there is humor and bizarreness to her creations. Instead of adding smoke to a flying jet she adds wrapped candy falling from the sky; instead of a woman sleeping on a bed there is an entire landscape of mountains. She describes her work as having a "narrative" by depicting a grand scale of either sarcasm, danger, or a chill vibe. Her use of imagination and fulfillment of color and shape brings a uniqueness to a dreamlike world.    In order to create a more visual and higher resolution image Loli uses photoshop as her medium. Rather than cutting magazines with scissors, she uses a more tech involved skill with this software in order to share h...
