  • People are mass buying toilet paper which has become a problem for those who are regular shopping.
  • Hand washings has apparently NOW become popular as all the hand soap is being used too
  • The rich don't think about the commoners when addressing the crisis. The common people cannot afford to not go to work which is why they kept going, which in turn affects people if they have the virus
  • Essential businesses (such as grocery stores) still can affect people with the virus, even though they are essential.
  • There are not enough testing kits
  • Hospitals are more crowded.
  • Masks help not spread the virus, but don’t help if you have no conditions. So mass buying mask is a problem
  • Healthcare workers are in shortage of everything
  • Giving people a thousand per household won’t be a huge help in the long run
  • Nobody thinks this will last a long time...but it might
  • CO2 emissions are lower because of lack of humans and cars on the  road
  • Animals roam what was once theirs in certain places
  • human pollution decreased
  • Meats are sold out
  • Snacks are still proudly standing
  • Social media has increased
  • Introverts are happy 
  • Electronic based companies will prosper in the economy whereas physical locations will suffer.

Where: New York
What: A statue of a person with a mask on. projection will be on the mask.
Why: People are over buying mask like crazy, and unfortunately health workers do not have mask because of it. It also symbolizes the fact that people are indeed in the middle of a pandemic. and a giant statue could memorialize that subject, perhaps even as time goes by after all the craziness.

Final approach
  • People who are sick are really sick
  • A lot of celebrities are sick but have no symptoms whereas the ones who aren't celebrities are sick but with horrible conditions
  • Younger people are starting to get sick despite the news saying they couldn't
  • One of the people I follow on Instagram made a statement about her Covid-19
  • The Us is set back with covid-19
  • respirators broken in LA, had to send them back
  • respirators is the face of pandemic
  • a giant respirator would be a perfect memorial

Final idea:
Where: New York
What: white statue of a respirator mask, and project people running, like from a movie like 28 weeks later, and contagion, and scenes from other movies that exposes what true pandemics are like.
why: New York has the highest amount of cases and deaths. when people catch the corona virus they have a hard time breathing and have to be on a respirator if it gets too serious. I want to highlight the idea of freely going out can cost someone their breathing space.

Trash  Concept:  My concept for this project changed dramatically over the span of two weeks. Initially, I was planning on presenting this in public in the Vaughn Center. That changed due to an emergency surgery then after I was recovered, the COVID-19 outbreak happened so I had to do it in my home. The idea is to show the negative effects of trash and how humans are neglecting their obligations to make a change. I would do this by projecting images of trash onto trash bags.  Using Pinterest, I was able to collect a number of images that I was able to take inspiration from. These varied from photos of pollution in the ocean to uses of single-use plastics being repurposed into art. I plan to use technology to emphasize the mood of the project which is guilt. INSTALLATION IDEA

MAIN IDEA TikTok has been made extremely popular due to the coronavirus pandemic.  We chose to represent social distancing at a larger scale by incorporating large Iphone-like interactive screens facing each other at a distance of six feet.The screens will display tiktok dances by a simple stick figure so that the viewer could follow along.  The installation would be located by the large fountains in central downtown Tampa. This is a highly trafficked area that will intrigue not only the cars across the streets, but also those just passing by. As far as materials we would need; two large monitors and a wooden frame to hold them up.
